Please help. This seems ridiculous but I can't figure out how to insert an SD card into the laptop. Do I need an external card reader? If so, why would there be a card reader built into the laptop.

If I push and pull out the "express card" reader plastic thing, do I put the SD card into that somehow? I don't want to push anything in, in fear of breaking it or losing the card inside the slot.

What am I doing wrong??

The expresscard slot is not a card reader slot. That is to insert specific expansion cards (which might include an SD card reader, for example). An SD card would get lost in there.

I do believe there is also a dedicated SD card slot. Actually a 5-in-1 card slot.

The 5-in-1 card slot is right under the "expresscard slot" and you should just be able to insert an SD card in there.

See Page 10, item 9.

Yes that is partly what I was wondering thank you.

I was frustrated with the fact that the manual did not show HOW to insert the various cards and where. It only seems to list the two ports and the list of all compatible cards. It would be helpful to have a visual of that.

I appreciate the quick answer, and didn't realize I would need an adapter for a mini-SD card, which is no problem its like $12.

Thanks again for the help
