How can I get the Simple Pass function to work?

Hi! @Pirtleocity, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you have issues with the simple pass application with your laptop.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Uninstall HP simple pass from control panel programs and application.

Restart your PC and install the latest version of HP simple pass application using this link.

Try the steps recommended below to setup HP simple pass application.

Scan your fingerprint to enroll it in HP SimplePass. Then you can log on to Windows using a fingerprint reader and quickly access your password-protected website accounts. Enrolling your fingerprint is required to begin using HP SimplePass. However, you can select your Windows User Account password or a PIN instead of your enrolled fingerprint as your SimplePass.
Follow these steps to set up HP SimplePass:
At the Start screen, type HP SimplePass, and then select HP SimplePass to open the application.
Click the Get started button.
Swipe the fingerprint reader with your finger repeatedly until the indicator displays 100%.
 NOTE:
The fingerprint reader is usually located to the left or right of the touchpad on your computer.
Select a SimplePass method (PIN, password, or fingerprint reader) for logging on to Windows and your password-protected website accounts, then click Next.
Follow any on-screen instructions that display, and then click Yes to log on to Windows using HP SimplePass.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot HP simple pass application.

Let me know if this works!

Cheers! 🙂
