I have a HP Desktop computer which is about 2 years old.  It runs on Windows 7.  It has slots on the front to use for SD cards among others. I have a small Nikon camers which uses an SD card.  When I insert the SD card into the SD slot on the front of the computer, it ONLY wants to download "New" pictures (not all pictures) on the chip, and into a Kodak file?

How do I change settings so I can download ALL pictures on the SD card to a file which I specify on my Library  "Pictures File Folder"??

Hi Pete,

First, welcome to the HP Forums!

Depending on the manufacturer of the SD, it will usually like to use the file path that is specifically setup during the installation of the SD card. Now you can get around this file path that is automatically setup, so that you can copy over certain pictures, or put your pictures into a specific file.

What you will need to do is open up the file that you do want to store your pictures in (ie. Pictures File Folder), and you will want to have the file folder for your SD card open. To open the SD Card file, please follow the steps below.

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Computer
3. Down the left hand side of the Window you should see your SD card (I have included a picture below), double click on this to open it

You should now be able to drag the pictures from one file to the other, or copy, and paste the photos.

If you are still experiencing the same issue after this, please let me know the manufacturers name of the SD Card (ie. Kodak, Nikon). As well, please provide me with the full model number of your computer. I have included the document Guide to finding your product number.

Hope this helps! 🙂
