Hi,
As long as your notebook supports booting from a flash drive, try the following.
Insert the bootable flash drive.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Boot Options menu ( f9 ). Use the arrow keys to highlight the flash drive and hit enter.

Hi!
I got a Compaq Presario CQ57-400SO I want to install with Windows XP instead of Windows 7, which is included. I've got two questions now since I've hit some bumps.
1. Is there any, at all, driver support for Windows XP to get a hold of?
2. How am I supose to boot from USB (my DVD-ROM is broken)?
+ Have converted my Windows XP installation disc to USB.
- I've tried changing the boot order, and no, the USB isn't marked with ! so it should work.
- I've tried pressing F9 which gets me to the Boot Option Menu. But once I press the USB drive it just goes straight to Windows (the pre-installed).
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Robin
