Hi,
Recently I buy one HP G42-355TU Laptop. I tried to install windows XP on it. But it is giving me a blue screen with an error showing the hard is may not configured properly. Someone told me to try to change the SATA mode from AHCI to ATA from BIOS first, then I need to try the XP installation. But in the BIOS I am not getting such option. Can anybody please help me.
Thanks in advance.

You cannot change it, you will have to slipstream the Sata driver into the XP installation CD.

It gets hard to help with this subject as there are so many different BIOS versions around.
Be it should look like the below. Set to IDE or as suggested above... build the SATA driver
into the Windows XP disc
