Im new in this forum " I don't know where to post my question
I have DVD rom drive (hp DVDRAM GT50N) that doen't work, it looks like the hardware is not the problem. So when I go to Device manager I find that de problem with the DVD drive, is the driver, and I see a message : Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
I went to HP Recovery Manager to reinstall the driver for my CD/DVD drive, but, when the list of the Drivers and Applications list to Reinstall appears, I don't know wich driver belongs to my CD/DVD drive. So I don't know what driver to reinstall.
By the way, my laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7 with windows 7. For your help I really thankful.
Thank you! CsrHdz

Hi:
The drivers are native to windows. You will not find any.
Please use the Microsoft automated fix it tool at the link below.
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us
If that doesn't work, go to the link below and read the directions to manually fix the problem, which should work for you.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/en-us
Go to the line labeled Method 3.
If that doesn't work try method 4.
