HP Elitebook 840 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got a HP Elitebook 840 G1 laptop and was wondering how do I turn off the monitor while keeping my computer on? This is possible on my much cheaper Asus K53 laptop using the fn key so I figured it could be possible on my new device as well.

1- go to power options (( from control panel or right click on the battery icon beside your clock)

2- on the new window u have to click on =] choose what closing the lid does (on the left side of the window)

3-after u click u will find seeting for both =] on battery and plugged in

4-under the "on battery" choose " turn off the display" beside the phrase " when i press the power button"

also do the same under the "plugged in"

beside the phrase "when i close the lid" choose "sleep" for both battery and plugged in

then save changes, and try to click on the power button now to see if ur screen will turn off while laptopb still on , or ur lap will go to hibernate . if the settings is ok u the screen will turn off while lap and every thing is working

also try to download the last intel display driver from intel web site
