Hi long story short i need to update the bios on my laptop with a flash drive because i can not do it in windows my laptop will NOT install windows for me it gets to the windows 7 setup screen nd then the screen goes black and occassionally the laptop shuts down i have no idea why this is happening but was doing a bit of googleing and seen that you can flash your bios with something like ms-dos or what ever it is and a flash drive

Hi,
Please follow these steps to flash the BIOS using USB drive:
1. Download the last BIOS version from the web site at: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
2. Execute the BIOS file (it should be spxxxx.exe). The files will extract to: C:\swsetup\spxxxxx
3. Copy the .bin file onto the USB drive.
4. Connect the USB drive to the PC that needs the BIOS update and turn on the PC.
5. Press F10 to go into the BIOS menu and select File.
6. Select Flash System ROM.
7. Select the USB device.
8. Select the .bin file and follow the onscreen instructions.
Let me know if that helped you.

Hey AronFabrigas,
I understand you are having issues with USB Flash Disk image working on your HP TouchSmart 520-1061uk Desktop PC. You have to make sure it saves to your flash drive. If it saves on your computer you can always drag and drop.
Select Flash System ROM.
Select the USB device.
Select the .bin file and follow the onscreen instructions.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
