IhOr,

How to generate *.bin and *.sig by phoenixtool? Would you explain step-by-step please?
HP Recommended

@Ih0r can you help with extracting .bin and .sig files from the BIOS Update download. What I received was .fd files (along with Insyde.exe and some DLLs). Now I have the phoenix tool too. When I open .fd in phoenix at the place of Original Bios, it shows an error message : "Not Phoenix/Dell/Insyde/EFI BIOS". I need help please...

Hi Quark,

I'm sending you a private message, can you check it and let me know?

Why is there really a need for private message since any potential solution can be useful to the public?

*bump*

Any public response yet or fix to the "Not Phoenix/Dell/Insyde/EFI BIOS" message?

Cheers.

Jim

HP Envy series is very different inside out as compared to Pavillion and similar laps. So most of the common methods like flashing BIOS, unbricking the computer usually don't work ! I myself own an HP Envy and I had bricked on the second week of purchase. BIOS Gone. I tried everything to reflash. Since I had warranty I send it to HP Service. I guess they couldn't install the BIOS either, theychanged the entire motherboard and returned it.

Hello am new here. So I have a HP 2000-2b19WM Notebook PC with its bios corrupted in these are the things I tried:

downloaded the bios files which names are 0188b.fd and 02128.fd.

renamed both files to 188b.bin and 2128.bin

formated a thumb drive to fat32 and place files in root of the thumbdrive.

removed the battery of the laptop and power.

attached thumbdrive and held down windows + B, then attached the charger.

with charger attached and both buttons press a power on the laptop and let go of all buttons once there is activity on the thumbdrive.

ok this is the problem.

I see the light on the thumbdrive blinkin (to show activity) then it stops after about five seconds stays steady for three seconds and the goes out completely. bearing in mind thro all of tht there were no beeping only the capslock led blinking twices before pause.

could someone please help me in fixing this.

Thanks in advance
