my laptop hp 1000 is running windows 8.1. The problem i m experiencing is that laptop screen is split into two halfs vertically, right side being slightly brighter than the right side. Now this issue doesnt appear when i m in BIOS setup. Moreover, in windows some desktop backgrounds show this prblems while others dont. The problem is somewhat intermittent. Need help 😞

Hi Umerali,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP 1000 Notebook and getting a half bright and half dim screen. You could try to click the Windows key type device manager. Update the Audio driver by right clicking on it. I would need the model number. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks.

Hi Umerali,
Thank you very much for the additional information on your system. You could try this automated troubleshooting fix from Windows 8.1. If that does not fix it, I was wondering if you can see the same results in safe mode. If yes could you try to connect the Notebook to a monitor to see if you have the same results. If you have the same results on the monitor it could be the graphics card. Here is a link to do a hardware test.
Here is a link to your Intel drivers and here for AMD for graphics. Download this first and then uninstall what you have in you graphics drivers under the Device manager.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.

i carried out automated troubleshooting fix but it couldnt detected and resolved the problem. I tried safe mode. In safe mode, i saw the same problem (half bright and half dim display). I ran hp hardware diagnostic tools. All the computer components test including video memory test, ram test, cpu etc were passed. No issues were found. I also uninstalled and reinstalled graphics driver. but original issue still persists 😞
I didnt tried connecting to external monitor as i didnt have one available. One more thing, I couldnt noticed any dim bright display in BIOS Setup. I m sending u with two pics of my laptop monitor display; One showing the issue, other not showing. As i hv mentioned earlier, the issue is somewhat intermittent.
