hello,

I turned on my hp 15-d103tx notebook today and found a new problem, device manager shows a new unknown device under the Other Devices section in the tree. the device  hardware id is ACPI\ACPI000E. this problem was not there initially, also suddenly HPSupportSolutionsFramework.msi is not able to detect my notebook as hp product. 3 days ago it was detecting but not now. dont have any idea why..?

I had recently updated the bios of my notebook and its working great otherwise.

update was downloaded from hp official website

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-131064-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

using windows 7 64bit

any help wud be appreciated..

Hi:

I would try updating the driver for the device from the device manager -- automatic search and hope that Windows Update finds the driver you need.

The device missing the driver is the ACPI Wake Alarm.

I have no idea where you will be able to find that driver.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea.

Maybe try reinstalling the latest Intel chipset driver and see what happens.

Hi:

After several attempts at scouring the internet, I may have hit pay dirt, and your notebook can be the test subject.

Here is the hardware ID shown in the setup information file...

[Manufacturer]
%Std%=AcpiTime,NTamd64

[AcpiTime.NTamd64]
%*ACPI000E.DeviceDesc% = AcpiTime_Inst,*ACPI000E

I have zipped up and attached the driver file I think will work under Attachments below.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.  Don't do anything with the 2 files in the folder.

They will have to be manually installed as follows...

Go to the device manager and click on the ACPI\ACPI000E (unknown) device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and hopefully the driver will install.

Then reboot.

I was able to get the ACPI Wake Alarm driver to install but the Exlamation mark is still there because the Microsoft certificate is not valid.

Error Reported:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
