Hp Envy won't power on

I sat down to my laptop this morning, only to find that it won't power on. The battery isn't dead, as I left it charging overnight. When I hold down the power button, nothing happens. There is no lights blinking from the power button, CAPS Lock, or anywhere else, nor is there any beeping noises. The only light on is the small LED beside the charging port, which is only on when the power cable is attached. I've tried hard and forced restarts numerous times, some with only the battery put in after, only the power cable put in, or both. I'm currently at a stand still with this laptop. It's about a year and a half old, but I might just bring it to a shop to get replaced if I can't fix it.

I have read your post and wanted to help. I understand that the laptop does not  boot up.

Since the computer could not be powered on either on AC adapter or battery, there may be a component of the laptop hardware is defective.

You can find a local repair store or contact HP phone suppor to arrange a repair.

Hi, were you able to figure out the problem. Im having the same issue with my HP-j054ca. HP hasn't been able to solve this issue:

I was! The problem was the CMOS battery. It had a false current running through it, making the laptop believe it was on. This is caused by leaving the laptop on standby instead of properly powering it off all the time. All I had to do was remove the CMOS battery for twenty minutes. I then returned it and the laptop worked fine!

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you were able to fix it. I replaced the CMOS battery but to no avail, seems in my case the issue may be with the motherboard....

I am having the exact same problem. How did you get the battery out?
