So in this case there is no workaround to differentiate original HDD slot to SATA3 (6 Gb/s) and optical drive slot to 3Gb/s ? In BIOS there is only one option.. how can I get full speed of my SSD back ? Is there any ways to tweak BIOS ?

It's why I do not recommend the optical drive bay option. This specific thing is a problem unique to the business machines that have a BIOS with an adjustable SATA speed, but I always suspected on the consumer models that putting a HDD in the optical bay slows the whole thing down. I think HP could write a BIOS that would fix this but they will not to cover a problem with 3rd party hardware.

Actually I still don`t get why original HDD in optical drive with caddy doesn`t work when BIOS setting is on 6 Gb/s. I mean to be more specific , BIOS setting indication is only identifying "max speed". I can take a photo as well if needed to show here. BIOS setting should allow both Sata II and Sata III ports to work. I guess the problem is that when caddy changes Sata connection on HDD to optical drive connection , HDD requests Sata3 from system but BIOS says no you are allowed to transfer max on Sata2 so you are totally banned if you want Sata3 and it freezes the system when optical drive is connected.
There should be a way to force HDD work on Sata2 (since HDD drive is slow , it will not matter to work on Sata2) so that BIOS will not block it.

Well you have proven it will not work with the SATA connection set to max 6gbps. I frankly am not even understanding why the setting is there. If the motherboard can handle 6 gps why would you ever want to have a lower maximum? But it is what it is.

Yeah , for now I am out of solutions , at least currently SSD and HDD working together and I have much better IOPS times then before , thanks to SSD. I can not get a full speed from SSD but still it is much faster than HP probook`s traditional HDD which was a Seagate 500 GB 5400 rpm HDD.
It is already 2.30 am here so I should probably go to sleep. Tomorrow I`ll try to find a solution if there is any of course.
Thank you for prompt responses Huffer , good evening.

Ok I have an update about this situation.. it seems SSD solution on this notebook is not working. I managed to arrange both SSD and HDD in caddy to be seen by Windows and it works perfectly. I can use notebook as before + much better read/write speeds thanks to SSD (even I am running it on Sata2 speeds). However when it comes to restart or shut down or put computer into sleep mode , it never works..
I tried every solution which was written in these forums but none of them helped. Some solutions helped for 1 day and next day it was same again.
And by the way , to be sure I tried only SSD without HDD in caddy , restart problem exists. When I put only HDD into laptop and run Windows on it , all the functions are working.
Any idea from experts ? The SSD I am using is : SanDisk SSD Plus 120GB SSD (SDSSDA-120G-G25)
