So i just bought the hp spectre x360 (2017 ac series) and was wondering if I should get a screen protector or case. Does anyone use a screen protector with theirs? What are the "best" options available for this device in terms of protection. Are there any cases/sleeves i should buy ASAP?

Is it the 13" unit?
As far as I am aware, the Spectre x360 ac models are delivered with a sleeve to protect the Ultrabook.
Using a screen protector is not viable as the 13t-ac series are touch screen enabled. I have had touchscreen noteboks before and never found a need nor reason to even consider a screen protector.
There is quite straightforward rule of thumb with touchscreens. If you break that rule of thumb it is at your product's own peril.
Use only your finger(s) or compatible Active pen stylus and never touch the screen with anything else.

Yup it's the 13' inch unit.
I was considering buying a screen protector as i've heard they remove fingerprints and/or make it less noticeable but if it affects the touch screen function then i don't think i will get one. As for the sleeve, i find it quite difficult to fit my spectre inside of it hence i have bought another one which looks a lot more comfortable 🙂
Are there any other cases or products that would further provide protection? Also would you recommend laptop skins; will they help protect the device from scratches?

The fit for sleeves is likely to be tight by design. That is also how it was with my 2016 HP product loan Spectre 13.
I found the case of the previous Spectre didn't pick up scratches. I used it quite heavily for almost a year. There were no scratches on it when I donated it. I am pretty certain that the case is the same aluminum alloy that the Spectre x360 has.
I have a Case Logic laptop backpack that Microsoft gave me a couple of years ago for protecting and transporting my ultrabooks around the world.
I will be recieving my 2017 HP product loan Spectre x360 13-ac000 ultrabook sometime this week. My wife has a laptop skin on her 2017 MacBook Air and she seems to like it. The Apple MacBook, considering its plasticized construction, needs more protection than the HP Spectre x360 does. I don't plan on using a skin with the HP Spectre as it is more rugged than the Apple device.

I installed a tempered glass screen protector on my HP Spectre, x360 that I bought from ebay. I did not lose any screen functionality by using the protector. As a matter of fact, my screen was easier to clean and maintain. I have used my stylus on the glass protector thousands of times and made a very good investment by installing the protector. Hope that helps you decide.
