hi ,

Have you tried Booting in to the unit BIOS .

Restart the unit and on boot keep tapping f10 to get into the unit BIOS .

If it get into the unit BIOS , Try updating the unit BIOS OR try BIOS defaults .

Else , Swap the unit memory or the HDD and  check do it boot into windows .

Is there a way I can force the safe mode page to pop up after a restart?

Nope that doesn't work either

New development probably a different issue now it gets to the HP startup screen (doesn't freeze) but I've left it for an hour and it eventually! Loaded I've managed to reset to out of the box factory settings reformat etc and it's still doing that any ideas why it takes an hour to load?
