HP Recommended
Product: DV7-3079WM
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am looking to upgrade my DV7-3079WM to 8 GB from 4 GB.

The HP site says it uses DDR3, but sites like newegg and crucial say it is DDR2.

 

Which memory would I need to buy?

Your Maintenance & Service Guide says 800-MHz, PC2-6400 which is DDR2:

I always trust Crucial. Have never steered me wrong in 10 yrs using them.But-eBay is cheaper and Micron is good memory:
