Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I brought my notebook into a computer tech and he tried to install 3 SSDs to no avail.  I would like to install a 120GB SSD if at all possible.  The error received was that it was unable to connect.  Two of the SSDS were Kingstons and the other one was a Toshiba.  My sense is that he did not seek to find out what SSDs were compabile with this laptop.  This computer originally came with Windows 8 installed.

We are going to need your full model number. But frankly any 2.5 inch SATA SSD should work. Sometimes, I wonder about these folks who call themselves "computer techs". There is no standard out there other than A+ certification, which does not really teach how to work on a laptop. I would also encourage you to open the wallet a bit and get at least a 240 gig SSD. Smaller than that causes installation problems and most people find it too confining in today's environment.

See p. 47 of the manual. Physical replacement is pretty easy. As said above there should be no problem with any 2.5 inch wide SATA SSD. I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.

I am not sure I would invest even $100 in that laptop. The AMD E-series processors are just not very capable. An SSD would help and you should install 8 gigs of RAM but even with that your uses of the laptop will be limited. Post back with any more questions.
