I DONT WANT SOLUTIONS TO 8!!!!

I want to install Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

Hi:

Please give me the full model # of your HP 2000 and I will give you the links to the W7 x64 drivers you need.

You have to change a couple of BIOS settings in order to install and run W7.  See the info below...

There is no model number.  Just a bar code.  Where/what do I use to get model number.

Did you change the BIOS settings?

Disable secure boot, enable legacy mode.

If you did, I can't help you with that problem because I have no idea why Windows isn't installing.

Below are the links to the W7 x64 drivers you need...

First, install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  You want the first file listed on the webpage.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

Then all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from this model should work on yours, except the wireless.

Wireless:   This driver should work...

Just to keep you updated.  Tried the HD on two other computers.  DOA.  Gonna have to wait to for another one.

Well, at least you figured out why windows would not install.

When you get a working hard drive, you should be all set.

Installed old drive and windows still locks up at same place.

Sending back both Hard Drive and software.
