Envy 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Tried to download Intel Graphics driver, specific to this laptop from HP Download site, released Dec/15/2015.  It downloads and starts to install.  Then, a message comes up saying "This software is not verified for this computer.  It will not install.  Go to the Intel site if you want more information."

Of course, the download from the Intel site says, "This is not verified for this computer.  Go to your OEM site for the software."

Found one other post about this and the "solution" was to install an Intel "download suite."  Did that and still have the same problem.

Any suggestions, please?  (It is rather silly that the HP download site provides software that, when one attempts to install it, says it will not work.)

Thanks.

Thanks for the messages.  The model is HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC.  Prod#:  E0K90UA#ABA.  It was purchased (on-line) from HP on Nov/13/2013.  Do not remember the installed OS; but, given the date, must have done the Win10 update earlier this year.  Any help, suggests would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks.  Yes; that's the download site I found and tried.

Just for the heck of it, just clicked your link, clicked to download & install and received the same message, i.e. "This software is not validated for use on your computer.  Do you want to go to the Intel website to learn more."  Going to the Intel website says "Here's our generic graphics software; but, it may not be validated for your computer because your OEM customizes it for your use. Go to your OEM's website."  If I download the generic from Intel, it will not install (giving me its own "this is not validated for your computer; go to your OEM" message.

This is a never-ending loop.

The Intel generic (which won't install because it is "not validated") was released in Jun/Jul 2015.  The HP download website says the Intel graphics software it provides was released by HP on Dec/08/2015.  So, presumably, HP customized the Jun/Jul/2015 generic for this HP machine.  But, the HP Dec/08/2015 release won't install.

Why should I care?  Well, lots of other things are now wrong (after the Win10 update) with this machine.  Many online forum(s) say the problems are because the Intel graphics needs to be updated and Intel did so in Jun/Jul.  So, presumably, getting the Intel graphics updated will solve many other problems.  At this point, this HP machine is sub-par, to say the least.

Thoughts?

. . . . and Thanks!

Oh . . . as a "ha,ha" . . . just noted that the "this is not validated" message that comes up when trying to install the HP-sourced update says to "contact the computer manufacturer."  That's HP, isn't it?  That is, the place from which this "not validated" update is sourced?

What am I missing, please?  If HP posted this update on Dec/08/2015 on its downloads website specific to this machine, how can HP tell the purchaser of its machine to contact HP for a validated download.

Again, thanks.

If you can't get compatible drivers from official ways, why not try to use some driver managment tool. I ever used a program named Driver Talent to help me install graphics card driver for my HP laptop. I think you can have a try !
