Pavillion 15-ab208na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After running numerous updates last night I have discovered that I have lost the drivers to some hardware, or at the very least the specific drivers have been replaced with generic ones...

I do not know if it happened when I used tyhe HP Support Assistant or not, as I was installing a lot of new software etc and also ran the intel driver update utility, but I recall the intel chipset drivers being one of the 4 things that were marked to be updated within the HP Support Assistant.

I took screenshots of the device manager page before I started as I've had a similar issue years ago, so I know;

I used to have:

Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework

  • Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Manager
  • Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal FrameworkProcessor Participant
System Devices
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family LPC Controller/eSPI Controller - 9D48
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  PCI Express Root Port #1 - 9D10
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  PCI Express Root Port #5 - 9D14
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  PCI Express Root Port #6 - 9D15
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  PCI Express Root Port #9 - 9D18
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  PMC - 9D21
  • Intel(R) 100 Series Chipset Family  Thermal Subsystem - 9D31

But now I have:
Network Adaptors
  • WAN Miniport (IKEv2)
  • WAN Miniport (IP)
  • WAN Miniport (IPv6)
  • WAN Miniport (L2TP)
  • WAN Miniport (Network Monitor)
  • WAN Miniport (PPPOE)
  • WAN Miniport (PPTP)
  • WAN Miniport (SSTP)
Other Devices (Uninstalled/Unknown devices)
  • PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
  • PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
  • PCI Memory Controller
  • Unknown Device
Software Devices
  • Microsoft RRAS Root Enumerator
System Devices
  • PCI Express Root Port
  • PCI Express Root Port
  • PCI Express Root Port
  • PCI Express Root Port
  • PCI Standard ISA Bridge
  • System MAnagement Device

It seems obvious to me that I have lost the series 100 chipset drivers but I could be wrong.  The 6th generation Intel processor is clearly hot off the press too as the 100 Series chipset drivers do not seem to exist anywhere on the web yet.

My laptop model (15-ab208na) is not listed on your Drivers and Support Pages.

I assume that HP have the original drivers.  Please can someone here post a link for them on here, or email them to me?  I'd prefer not to wait indefinately for a possible update to the HP Support Assistant before resolving this, as that could be months.

Best regards,

Antony

Thank you for the link go2,

I will have a go at installing the intel ones from there.  I dont have an AMD graphics dirver installed, I hve the Intel 520 one and an nVidia one.  Should I be removing the intel 520 driver?

Hi Go2,

Most of the drivers on this page are dated today... probably why I couldn't find them last night.  Thanks for your help, Im now updating almost all of them again and will hopefully be able to flag your first post as the solution in a bit.

Best regards,

Antony
