HP Compaq 6910p Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi!

I have installed Win 10 on a HP Compaq 6910p Notebook PC and everything works ok, but missing drivers for two devices. So I really would be happy to have some help with these ones. I found some one asking for help on this forum about same devices, but the link for the drivers is not working any longer!

So this is what I need help with:

PCI Simple Communications Contoller
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A04&SUBSYS_30BE103C&REV_0C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A04&SUBSYS_30BE103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A04&CC_078000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A04&CC_0780

PCI Serial Port
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A07&SUBSYS_30BE103C&REV_0C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A07&SUBSYS_30BE103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A07&CC_070002
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A07&CC_0700

Maybe there isnt any drivers for Win 10. but maybe for win 7 or Vista will work anyway?? I hope !

Thanks, Stefan.

Hi, Stefan:

Yes the Vista/W7 drivers will work.

You need the AMT driver.

The problem is, HP is missing a lot of the drivers on the support page.  I reported the issue over 2 weeks ago.

So, I have gotten the driver you need from my 6910p Vista Business recovery disk, zipped it up and attached it below.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager and click on the devices one at a time.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped and the driver should install.

Then repeat the process with the 2nd device.

Reboot afterward.

Thank's so  very much for the help, the drivers was working . It's fun to have an old laptop  (original Win Vista) working fine with Windows 10!  I will save the drivers.

Stefan.

You're very welcome, Stefan.

Yes, it is.  What a versatile notebook that can run Windows 2000 all the way through Windows 10, and either a 32 or 64 bit operating system.

Plus both the Intel and AMD graphics work on W10.

MIne has the AMD x2300, and my son's has the onboard Intel graphics.

I also have 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) of PC2-6400 running in both of them. I put that memory in a long time ago when it was cheap.
