thank you for the info on Reliability monitor. i had no idea abt this tool and looks like my computer has had problems since Jan.

I did not install the Intel Tech boost driver - that came with the laptop so do i have to go thru every item on the reliability monitor since jan last year to see which one had to do with this driver?

but i found a big drop on Jan 10, yesterday - "windows failure" - but my computer is still working? not sure what to do

this is themsessage below

Address a problem with your computer

You received this message because hardware or software on your computer caused Windows to shut down unexpectedly and restart. This is a serious problem, commonly referred to as a stop error or blue screen.

If you have received this error more than once, we recommend that you do the following:

  1. Back up your files to avoid data loss in case of a complete hardware failure.

  2. Contact the original manufacturer of your computer to determine the specific component which is failing

This was very helpful.  Lookslike i should just ignore the yellow bang but to confirm my processor stats says it is an i7 Q 720...there was no Q"M"...does that matter?

You should be good, You can also check the TurboBoost operating by installing this Intel App and dragging some Windows around the screen.

I am assuming my i7Q720 processor does not have "integrated graphics" but i went ahead and installed this Turbo Boost Monitor.  Dont know what it does? or is suppose to be telling me.

Do i need to  uninstall the turbo boost driver since i dont need it.

It's a boost monitor , in the picture above it shows a unit with a 3.33 GHZ processor overclocking , this shows you when the unit is Boosting proving that TurboBoost is working. You can remove the driver

Hi everyone...

My laptop details:

HP Pavilion dv3 -4210TX

Intel Core i7 Q740

Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

Inquiries:

WHile I'm checking every drivers in Device Manager for some possible updates (Right Click on the Driver, Click Update Driver Software, Choose Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software), the results are always "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date".  But when I checked on the website, in Software and Driver Downloads, there are some drivers that do not matched with the latest version in the site.  So my question is, is it safe to do the manual updating of my drivers (Download the update, and install in my laptop).  And I have checked that my laptop is within the system requirements.

And, since I specified my Laptop's model while I'm looking for Driver Updates, I noticed that I don't have Intel Turbo Technology Driver, when in fact, it is included in the list.  is it safe to download and install it in my laptop?

Thanks a lot.
