But according to page 2 in the service manual linked above it should be possible?

Hi,

 

Seeing the post of @GBL84 it seems I have misinterpreted the service manual and the SSD or M2 SSD are actually mounted in the same space using different boards and cables.

Hmm ok.

But I googled around some and found a review of the pavilion 15. There is a picture early on that shows the inside of the computer. There seem to be yellow boxes that I think means I can use 2 hard drives since there is one ssd box up in the picture and then there seem to be a space for another hard drive left bottom.

That left bottom hard drive looks like my the hard drive I took out from the old laptop. So maybe I can use the old drive anyway as extra storage if I just remove the windows stuff? 🙂
