HP Notebook 1BQ14UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The keyboard on my HP Notebook does not type in the Windows environment. It only works in Chrome or come other applications.

I tried using an external keyboard with the same results.

I also performed all the system updates. Can anyone help me out?

Greetings @bjoseph80

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that the keyboard is not working in Windows but it is working on other applications.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

Recommend you open device manager by doing a right-click on the Windows button.

Uninstall the keyboard drivers. Please delete the driver when prompted.

Restart your computer couple times and let me know how it goes.

For other troubleshooting steps, please refer to this HP Article for assistance.

Run HP Support Assistant to update all the drivers on your computer. Click here

Let me know how it goes.

Yes already did everything mentioned. Still the keyboard is non functional.

I am using the ctf loader program every time I restart the computer to get the keyboard to respond.

Recommend you try a system store on your computer to a date when the computer was working fine. Click here for assistance.

Alternately, please open task manager and disable any third party application on startup.

Keep me posted.
