I am currently trying to add a monitor for my x360 and I'm trying to flip my laptop display over so it doesn't distract me from the monitor. Everytime I do that though, my keyboard stops working and all of the backlighting stops working. Is this a fixable problem? Please help Thanks

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Spectre x360 series laptop. I read that when you connect an external monitor to the laptop, the keyboard stops working. And the keyboard backlight goes off.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Please let me know the exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
- Are you connecting the monitor to the VGA or HDMI port on the laptop?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
If the issue persists then please review this HP article regarding connecting an external monitor to your laptop.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to reply. Cheers! 🙂

I recently replaced the screen on a Spectre x360 15". Got the flipped screen problem. Couldn't figure out why when I only replaced the screen.
Final solution that worked. I set the screen to flipped landscape under Windows 10 and added an external wireless mouse and keyboard to be able to use the keyboard and mouse. That way, I don't have a worthless laptop.
My conclusion: either HP or Microsoft has written poor drivers to diferentiate between touch screen input and USB input. Otherwise, why would the external mouse and keyboard work when the touch screen settings do not?
