Your only recourse now would be to take the laptop to a certified repair facility and have them check it out.

 

That's going to cost some money as those places charge by the hour to run diagnostics.

Thanks for that link, give that I am not working at the moment I am not interested in spending a wad to figure it out, if I can narrow it down myself it will help a bit.  Thank you for all of your advice!
