Hey everyone. My laptop isn't charging and I am also unable to switch on the laptop on power chord. The power adapter works fine(tested on other laptop). The laptop works fine on battery. I took it to a service centre(not an authorised one) and the guy told me the motherboard has a short circuit and has to be replaced.

I want to know if this is correct because the laptop is working fine when using the battery. Unfortunately the battery is depleted so I can't use the laptop anymore. Could it be a problem with the DC jack or motherboard problem?

Thanks.

Yes it is likely to be the DC jack which is a separate replaceable part much less expensive than a motherboard. I would definitely try a new jack before I assumed it is the motherboard. Our links are down right now but check back in a day or so for the part number and advice where to buy it.

Thanks for the reply Huffer! I was suspecting the DC jack as the problem. Anyway I'm planning tp take the laptop to an authorised service centre tomorrow to check if there are any other problems. Thanks again!
