Hi mausam2,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  Smiley Happy

I understand that you cannot get connected to your Netgear Router wireless with your HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC. I will try my best to help you with this.

I suggest following the steps in the document for Resolving Universal WLAN Errors to make sure that the router has the correct settings to connect with the computer. I am also including this document for Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 😎, that explains how to use the Window 8 diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.

I hope this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day.

I worked on behalf of HP.
