I have been testing it for a while and every time it wakes up perfectly. I think the suggestion of restoring the power schemes was the key thing that fixed it. When I reinstalled the intel management engine interface driver, it actually went to sleep faster and didn't hang for a few seconds like it used to. So that in itself could've added on some additional minor problems. Over all it works great now and I haven't had any problems with it. Now I won't have to worry about taking this laptop back. Thank you so much for your help.

Sorry to bring this back, but my laptop has started doing it again. I'll reset the sleep schemes again and it will work fine. But after a while, it will just shutdown when woken from sleep mode again. I don't know what could be the cause of all of this, but now it's starting to become a headache. I hope you can help me resolve this issue. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
As the issue has come back again, I would suspect fault hardware to be the cause. Most likely the RTC battery in the notebook.
For this, I would recommend contacting support for repair options.
HP Technical Support, North America 1-800-474-6836. For all other regions click here.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.
