Hi:

Since both adapters have the drivers installed, I don't know what to tell you as I'm not much good with troubleshooting network connections if the drivers are installed and the devices report working properly.

My suggestion is to reboot your broadband modem and router.

Also, please see if any of the information at the link below is of help to you.

Good luck!

Thanks, that's where I'm at. I just cannot find anything wrong, but something is.  We just got back from traveling and it did this everytime I tried to connect no matter where. I turn my router and modem off every night, so that's been done.

I updated my HP G62-b24EO to Windows 8 and somehow it ruined the wireless connections. Before, on windows 7, i used to get an average of 40-50Mbps but now only 1Mbps. Wired connection still gives an average of 85-88Mbps. I believe this model incorporates a broadcom BCM 4313 wlan radio chip. Any suggestions how to taggle the situation? I tried the update mentionned in this thread, but it did not offer sny help.

Hello jppaus. I understand you've noticed a large difference in your internet connection after upgrading to Windows 8.

You've already tried Paul's fix mentioned above but there is another possibility. Windows 8 "reserves" a section of your bandwidth for use with the live tiles. This setting may be higher than it should be. I made a post covering how to change this, you can view it here. Let me know if this helps.

I hope you have a great day!

Hi, I'm getting desperate. I recently updated to Win8 can't get my wifi to work at all. My model is Pavilion dv6-6b80ec. I've installed drivers from HP site and I can't turn wifi on. Neither using FN+F12 combitantion or "Change PC Configuration". Button is still orange no matter what i do. In device manager everything seems OK.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi, DMDave92:

If the wireless card is showing up under network adapters in the device manager, it is possible that you need to install some additional software.

There should be two network adapters listed in the device manager--the wired one and the wireless one.

Are there any devices showing up in the device manager with little yellow ! marks?

If so, those need drivers installed.

Both devices are showing up under networks adapters in device manager and none of them have got yellow!mark.

I've downloaded both aditional applications. HP Quick Lounch works properly, but didn't fix the problem though. When I want to launch HP connection manager, It shows this error. http://i48.tinypic.com/zxp8c5.png

Thank you for your time

You're very welcome.

I have read numerous threads about issues with the Broadcom 4313 network card (if that is the one you have) and windows 8.

Here's on for example which seems to be the same issue as you have.

I have read where some folks have downloaded the Windows 7 driver, and that has worked in some instances.

Give the one I posted above a try and see if that works.

Also see if installing this driver works.
