I know this is a Linux question but it is related to the HP Stream hardware specifically, because I do not have this issue with other computers.
Lubuntu and Mint boot perfectly on this laptop from a usb, while Clonezilla, not even their Ubuntu based version will boot. Other non-Ubuntu distros will not boot either. I don't know if it is a BIOS setting, kernel switch, etc., that I might need to set, or something else I am missing. I want to image the drive before I start deleting and modifying things on the laptop.
My setup:
1) HP Stream Notebook (Model: 11-r010nr 11.6"). Stock Win 10 on drive.
2) Various distros loaded onto a usb stick (Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0) using YUMI software (2.0.1.9).
What works:
Lubuntu 15.10
Mint 17.3
What does NOT work:
clonezilla-live-2.4.2-61-i586.iso
clonezilla-live-2.4.2-61-amd64.iso
clonezilla-live-20151012-wily-amd64.iso (Ubuntu version)
Gparted 0.24.0-2
Fedora 23-10
Kaspersky Rescue DIsk 10
Every Puppy Linux version
Now, just to get the USB to be recognized on the HP stream I had to make the following changes in BIOS:
Legacy Support = Enabled
Secure Boot = Disabled
Boot Order = USB First.
I have tried many of the various menu switches to OS's before booting like graphics resolutions, etc., but they have not helped.
Also, importantly, every distro on that USB stick works on my OTHER computer which is a desktop as well as other people's computers, so this issue is specific to the HP Stream 11.

SOLVED.
So, this was really bothering me, so I played around with it this morning a bit. It was recommended by the Clonezilla author that I try Tuxboot and/or another USB drive brand. So first I tried Tuxboot with Clonezilla 2.4.2-61 Stable and initially it didn't work like all my other attempts. However this time I noticed a new boot option in the boot menu:
Whereas the only boot option before was:
USB Hard Drive - Sandisk Extreme......
A new entry appeared when using Tuxboot, and with Clonezilla being the only ISO on the USB drive:
USB Hard Drive (UEFI) - Sandisk Extreme
So, I gave it a try and a slightly different Clonezilla main menu popped up. It was a plain text menu of the normal selection of choices (resolution, etc) rather than the normal scrollable menu. Also, on top of the screen was the following text...."GNU grub version 2.02 Beta 2-28". I selected one of the entries (1024 resolution in my case) and Clonezilla started up properly. Unfortunately no such option exists when running YUMI, so I would have to put each individual distro on its own USB stick, which of course I would never do.

Hi, I have booted Mint and Ubuntu 32-bit and 64-bit USB's on my Stream 11 but mostly 64-bit and I have not had a problem, you did not mention if the Mint and Lubuntu you booted was 32 or 64-bit.
I guess you might try disabling the legacy boot mode if you are trying to boot 64-bit if you have not already and clearing the secure boot keys. I guess if you disabled secure boot, it would not look at the keys however.
I cannot think of anything else to try. Did you try to boot the Windows 10 installation media?

The two Ubuntus that worked are both 64 bit. I don't understand why the 64 bit Clonezilla version didn't work because it is Ubuntu version 15.10 based just like the Lubuntu I tried. I made an inquiry to the Clonezilla developer; maybe he can shed some light into this. Not sure what you are getting at about the Windows media.
