Hello,

Over two days ago some water was spilled into my HP 2000-2a20NR laptop, and since then I have been letting it dry and besides a couple of keys acting a little weird and the fan being really loud, it boots up fine and no damage to my HDD at all.

The problem is, the laptop fan is being extremely loud while blowing out cold air. It will do this periodically when I turn it on to check to see if the issue had stopped. I'm out of options as to how to get it to stop doing this besides the uncooked rice option.

Solutions? Could there possibly still be some moisture in the laptop near the cooling fan? Should I just let it sit for even longer?

Bump. Anyone?

Hello AnonymousUsar,

Water and electronics is never a good combination. I would suggest dismantling the laptop as much as possible and then letting sit in some rice to try to draw all the moisture out.
