Hi,
my laptop screen was malfuncation so i had to replace it , i went to a local offical hp service provider in saudi arabia, madinah.
they replaced my screen but after they did i'm getting a lower resoultion then i had.
i used to have a maxiumum 1920 x 1080 resoultion now i the maximum is 1366 x 768
i went back to the store and they said nothing is wrong with the screen and the same screen was install without a difference and they almost called me a liar.
im going back to them with the laptop specs http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03987278
and my brothe has the same laptop with the higher resoultion ill show it to them
What im asking is what do you think could caused that problem ? screen cord placed in a wrong place ?
and thank you

Hi @TeeShirtArtist,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 15-j002ex Notebook and issues with a New HD BrightView LED backlit (1920 x 1080) display panel with the lower resolution. I would try updating the Graphics Drivers.
Click the arrow next to Display Adaptors to expand that category
Right-click on Graphics Family and select Update Driver Software
Choose the option to Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.
The Notebook should find and automatically install the updated driver
After the installation is complete, restart your Notebook.
If that does not help, here is a link to change the resolution you might have to select the advanced setting to make sure your driver is being used.
I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings.
A computer repair center should be able to correct this with no issues. The only thing could be if they installed an incorrect panel. The only way to know what panel specs are, would be to obtain the part number of the new panel.
I hope something here helps.
Thanks.
