There are some hidden unnecessary files stored on the laptop causing it perform slowly and sometimes freezing up. These files are temporary Internet files, browser cache, cookies, recycle-bin, and system temporary files and so on. To remove these unnecessary files use system cleaner program such as reginout cleaner.

A fragmented disk slows down the performance of retrieving and saving information in the files by user and installed programs. So, you have to defrag your disk drives through the following method:

1. Click on Start.
2. Go to All Program and Select Accessories.
3. Click on System Tools and move to Disk Defragmenter.
4. Start the process.
5. Done.

The most important component of operating system is registry which contains information about all hardware and software configurations. Installing a new program or uninstalling the existing one may lead to registry fragmentation which results in laptop freezing on constant intervals.

Microsoft Windows has no built-in tools available so use a third party software program for this purpose. Use reliable system cleaner that has registry defragmentation utility to start defragmentation process.

Manage your startup.

Clean system trash.

If you are playing games then upgrading your RAM would be helpful.
