Hi,

 

I am wondering about how much ram can my pavilion dv6 support as I want to upgrade the RAM.

 

The specs are as follows:

 

Product name- HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

 

Product Number- XV699PA#ACJ

 

Processor- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU       M 460  @ 2.53GHz

 

Operating System- Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64bit

 

System Board/ Motherboard- 144A 65.38

 

Current installed  ram- 4GB (2 x 2GB)

 

Graphics- AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series

 

Can anyone tell me about how much RAM can my laptop support?

Your machine is an HP Pavilion dv6-3123tx. It supports 8GB of RAM max as from page #2 of the Maintenance and Service Guide:

 

Two customer-accessible/upgradeable SODIMM slots
DDR3 PC3-10600 1333-MHz memory
Supports dual channel
DDR3/1333-MHz and DDR3/1066-MHz (only computer models equipped with the Intel Core i7-840QM 1.86 GHz processor, the Intel Core i7-820QM 1.73GHz processor, the Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73 GHz processor, and the Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6 GHz processor run at DDR3/1333-MHz; all other computer models run at DDR3/1066-MHz)
Supports up to 8 GB system memory in the following configurations:
1024-MB total system memory (1024 MB x 1)
2048-MB total system memory (1024 MB x 2, dual-channel)
2048-MB total system memory (2048 MB x 1)
3072-MB total system memory (1024 MB x 1 + 2048 MB x 1)
4096-MB total system memory (2048 MB x 2, dual-channel)
