Hello everyone!

I had the same problem. Very frustrating!

So i called the supportdesk yesterday and they provided me with a brand new driver. (Version 5.00.44.0)

You can download it right here:

ftp://wln45070:ck*BE3qv@ftp.usa.hp.com

I installed it yesterday and haven't had any connection drops eversince!

(With driver 5.00.37.0 i had drops like every 15 minutes.)

So please give it a try!

Hello Claire,

I beleive that if an HP PC is using that board, it should be replace. something is wrong with that board. It does not work period.

You should call HP Support, describe the problem, and have them ship to you a new board (from a different manufacturer), that will work perfectly as soon as it is plugged in.

Good luck,

FG

Joel, in that link you need to navigate to the folder corresponding your OS, then click on the rar file then it will downlod. As you see it's on a ftp server.

Had similar problems with MT7630E. Most of the time, the connection could not even be established with AP.

The new drivers (5.0.44.0), bhekman points to, do seem to resolve this issue, HOWEVER, after installing them, the connection is VERY slow, comparing with my other devices' Wifi speeds from the same location.

HP should stop trying to fix something on the SW level that probably has a HW cause, and simply replace all these faulty cards with another brand.

Agree ! that's what they did for me, and it works great!

Good luck with HP support...

Having the new driver installed since 2 weeks now and it works fine, never had a connection drop since.

FINALLY!

Indeed ... HP Support is an oxymoron. My case is still not resolved. HP is in process of replacing the PC but in  ZA they have not had stock for 5 weeks! ... a simple wifi card fault has taken 2 months to remedy ... hampered by corporate red tape Complaint Department personnel have tried in vain to secure a speedy solution. HP ( Hampered Performance) has a serious service ethic problem ... in time its going to cost them severely ... if I had stock in HP I'd  d selling right now.
