Mini 210
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello! My Mini 210's HD seems to have failed...if I install a new HD, is it possible to receive from HP a Windows 7 Starter OS to re-install?  Or, perhaps (?), is there a way to re-install the Win 7 Starter OS once I go online with the new HD, or...what else may I do, to install a new HD, and carry on?!  THANKS!  Michael.

Greetings @Speedchess,

Thanks for the post.

I understand that the HDD has gone bad on your computer, you have replaced it and want to know how to get a copy of the recovery kit to install an OS on your computer.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

Have you created a recovery kit on your computer?

If you have not created a recovery kit on your computer, please contact our phone support to get a copy of the recovery.

You can also visit www.hp.com/drivers enter the exact product number of your computer and check if there is an option for you to order it online.

Hope this helped.

Chimney_83: Thanks for your kind asistance...I appreciate it!  So: my old 210 Mini managed to get to the "Startup Repair / Repairing Disk Errors" Screen---where it's been for several hours, the blue bar scooting back and forth...with ( alas!) no results...

My guess is that the HD is beyond help...I plan to install a new HD  /SSD...I DO have a Recovery USB...my newQuestion: once I've installed the new drive, how may I install the Recovery USB's information on it?

Once again: thanks for your help...with a bit of luck ( and a few $$ ), the 210 will be back and running soon...!  Michael

Hi! @Speedchess, I am the MrRobot. It looks like you were interacting with @Chimney_83, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Once you run the recovery using the USB recovery kit the recovery partition will be installed automatically you don't have to create the recovery partition.

Refer this article to know how to perform recovery on your PC.

Have a beautiful day ahead!

Take Care! 🙂
