Pavilion dv6t-1100
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

It says in the device manager that I am missing a multimedia controller driver. I don't know what file to download to fix this. The hardware id is:

PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461&REV_03
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&CC_048000
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&CC_0480

Also it says it can't find a driver for my printer Officejet J4680 even though it is installed and working properly which is puzzling.

I went to the device manager and deleted the three listings for my printer. I also deleted the "unknown" devices before restarting the computer. Then I turned off my antivirus software as well as Windows firewall and reinstalled the printer. It seems to have worked now; no more yellow triangles. Again thanks for your help.

Hi:

That ID would be the TV tuner that needs a driver...

This package provides a TV Tuner driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

File name: sp45500.exe

Unfortunately, I can't help you with the second issue.

Thank you. That fixed the first problem. That leaves two other things in my device manager without drivers. One says Officejet J4680 series and the other says Unknown device which I believe is the printer again but this time installed as a network printer. The hardware ID for the latter is:

ACPI\ENE0100
*ENE0100

I'm completely baffled as the printer installed without problems and is working perfectly. It seems you could point it to the correct driver manually and that should take care of it but no. Could the Windows firewall or my antivirus software be causing the trouble? Maybe someone out there has an answer to this pesky little problem.

You're very wecome.

You need this driver for the ENE...

This package contains the ENE CIR Receiver Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

File name: sp45045.exe

...and you installed the OJ-J4680 printer driver from the support page?

File name: OJJ4600_Full_14.exe

I ran both of those files with no luck. I had already used OJ4600_Full_14.exe to install the printer. Now when I went to the Device and Printers the printer was only there as a network printer. The local printer and fax have both disappeared. I tried reistalling them and they seem to install but keep doing a disappearing act. They continue to appear in the device manager under Imaging Devices three times. I assume that's once for the printer, one for the fax and one for the network printer, but I could be wrong. At the same time, under Other Devices the printer is listed as well as Officejet J4680 series is listed as well as Unknown Device both with a yellow triangle. It's like the printer installs correctly but not really 😞  The ENE CIR receiver driver didn't seem to do anything.

I had tried upgrading to Windows 10 and downloaded those drivers for the printer. It didn't work well on this computer, so I reinstalled Windows 7 from a disk. Could this have anything to do with the problems I'm having?

Hi:

It is hard to say what the issues could be.

I normally install the operating systems on my PC's from a plain disk too.   Any issues I run into are usually resolved in short order.

Not sure why the cir reciever driver didn't work because you definitly need that driver for that device.

Try manually installing if from the device in the device manager.

Click on the ENE device needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.  Select the browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be in C:\SWSetup\sp45045.  Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows the driver supports that hardware ID.

I did exactly what you said but it said windows couldn't find driver software for my device. I never had trouble before installing the printer. I don't know what's wrong.

Unfortunately, I don't either.

You're very welcome.

That is great news.
