Folio 9470m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had Windows 10 installed on my HP Folio 9470m since October last year (insider program).

One thing that I never been able to get to work is the mobile broadband device (un2430). It simply says "Radio off". All attempts to re-install driver (which shows as "working"), disable/enable the device etc etc just leads to same result, that the "Radio is off".

I googled this a couple of times and found that other users have the same problem. Also colleagues of mine with same model has also the same problem. It works just fine under Windows 8.1.

Anyone has a workaround?

I was really disappointed when W10 was released that HP did not update the drivers-page with W10 drivers:

How can I find out when/if HP will release W10 drivers, including support for mobile broadband, for the HP Folio 9470m?

No that HP released some drivers for the Folio 9470m and Windows 10 I decided to make an installation from scratch and use those drivers. Unfortunately there were no driver for the un2430 and I still couldn't get it to work.

But then I found this solution from fellow HP user jamie76 and it actually worked!

I thank this guy fromthe bottom of my heart, and if you have a Folio 9470m, this is how you make the WWAN work in Windows 10:

1. Uninstall HP un2430 Sierra Wireless Drivers at Control Panel- Programs and Features. If you have any there.

2. Restart your machine.

3. Restart again.

4. First install hp un2430 Sierra Wireless Driver sp63218 from 8460p Windows 8.1hp support and drivers. Approximately 77MB in size.

5. Restart.

6. Finally as additional install, sp63221 approximately 115MB. Sierra Wireless Driver. From hp support and drivers of a CURRENT laptop called Revolve G1 EliteBook Windows 8.1 OS.

7. The cellular signal should appear at taskbar.
