Hello KarenS1110. I understand your computer randomly beeps. I will do what I can to assist you! Since a hard reset doesn't fix the issue, I believe you should test for hardware failures. This documentation explains how to test it using built-in diagnostic tests. Please provide the results of these tests.

If the hardware tests pass, this could indicate a driver or software issue. I would like you to use HP Support Tools to update the drivers, and the BIOS. After these updates are complete, please take note if the beeping continues.

Also, a random thought to consider: Does the beeping occur when the notebook is using battery life, AC power, or both?

Please respond when all the troubleshooting is complete. If the information I provided was useful, please mark it with a Kudos and Accepted Solution so others can locate this information easily.

I will continue to research the issue, in case it does not get resolved from this troubleshooting. I'm only here to help!

I know this thread has been unsolved, but my four long beeps are approximately every five minutes. I have tried everything thought of here and took off the back to watch fan spin, feeling for thermal elevations and reset my system using the complete refresh. I believe the complete refresh formats the current installation partition so am pretty sure it is now software or a thermal event. I do not see any bios setting which may cause an alarm. So like all the others I am stumped. Note that the system runs fine, no bsod, etc... I downloaded a tool that lets me see the thermal reports and frequency flows, but they seem normal.

The beeping sounds like the emergency boardcast tests.

Thanks
