Hi @Prayforsilence

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

Obviously, somebody or something set the password 🙂

If related to BIOS/startup password before Windows loads

, please enter some password (wrong password) 3 times, press ENTER and you should receive a new window stating system disabled and a code similar to this one  :

Please, take note of the system disabled/halted code & write it down back here the whole code - numbers + letters  (whatever you see)

Someone had to but I doubt they will admit me to it but the disable/halted code would be

A [ECF9910]

I would like a reply asap because I do need my laptop for college later today

@Prayforsilence

For that model and (HEX) code you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to generate your Master code from your “SYSTEM DISABLED CODE”

Contact Support >> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

I have also heard that some have had success removing the RTC/BIOS battery???

Well I did open it up to look for the rtc battery but I can't find its location and I also found out that the hard drive was taking out so would putting in a new harddrive fix the issue I'm having maybe??

@Prayforsilence

No HDD at this time would have nothing to do with the password.

The BIOS battery is on the underside of system board.
