I own an HP pavilion dv6 and it has recently started making noise while starting up. I probably think its the noise from the cooling fan but I'm not sure. Please tell me what to do. The noise is something like the fan going berzerk but the noise stops coming when the windows welcome screen shows up.

HI rahulgarg12342:

Thank you for you inquiry.  I am pleased to help!

I understand that you hear a noise on startup, but that it disappears when the Windows logo appears.

Have you run the" HP Support Assistant"  click here to look for issues and updates?. Have you run the HP UEFI diagnostics, to test for hardware issues. click here? I am  sending you a document on "Reducing Fan Noiseclick here.  Do you hear any beeps or see any flashing lights on startup?. Bios Beep Codes click here. If you determine it is the fan at fault, and you want  to replace it, I am including a link to a 3rd party site to view a video on replacing the fan.  click here. I  would suggest getting a large piece of paper and marking grids on it. For each section you remove place the part, and the screws in 1 grid. Do this in the order you remove them, and it will be easy to follow back to replace items and you will have the exact screws for each section.  I hope this has helped.
