quite fortunate it failed within the warranty period. hopefully you got them HP to fix after you attempted all their suggested solutins besides holding your mouth the right way. pray it does not fail even worse next time. make sure to back up your important files incase you have to buy a dell or toshiba as a replacement for these unreliable HPs.

I've tried that method but I think something else is going on. When I press the power button the light flashes once and the Wi-Fi "Amber" light flashes once. It's probably some sort of troubleshooting indicator meant to lead you off in a certain direction that something was wrong when it tried to Post, but I can't find a reference for what it means.

I had recently purchased a similar model and am listing it to sell. I removed the Motherboard from that one and put in this one, so I've eliminated several items it could be. The drive is fine, swapped memory and it's fine, and I tried a different palmrest with a different power ribbon board. I believe I'm down to the CPU or the Motherboard. Any ideas?

Forgot to mention: no hard drive or fan activity at all. So I'm thinking something on the Motherboard or the CPU has failed. That's pretty much as deep as my training goes. Swap parts, if it doesn't work, it's a doorstop!
