I have a 15-G012dx running 8.1, it also does not start. When the ac adapter is plugged in I get the whitish-blue light next to the outlet. That is it, no blinking, no sounds, no start.

I have removed the Cmos battery and shorted out across the contacts, I have also removed the battery and held the power button on for over two minutes and plugged the ac back in and nothing. Only the littel light next to the ac outlet.

Now what?

not a good sign!  if the white blue light is on next to where the ac adapter plugs in that means that the battery is fully charged I think.   usually that light will be orange when you first plug in the adapter if you had been using the laptop just with the battery powering it for a bit --the orange light indicates the battry is charging and when reaches full charge will turn white or light blue.

make sure you have no blocked cooling vents   so blow them out well with a canof compressed air for cleaning computers.m to

now what else to try to make the laptop wake up--hmmmm    first let me ask    did you notice anything unusual about how it performed last time you used it   or about how it shut down???  has it been running unusally hot lately???e

so you see no other signs that it is trying to wake up--like other lights momentarily blinking on then off quickly?  no fan or harddrive sounds or optical drive sounds??

with the main battery removed, and just the ac adapter plugged in---try holding the power button down firmly about 2 minutes and see if you get any response!   if no joy with that procedure ,,,,then there has to be some way to get it out of deep sleep or lock out.   maybe try and hold the control alt. delete buttons  for two minutes.  then try and turn on with the power button.  I am just shooting in the dark now.   Notice that no one from the HP company will step up with any constructive suggestions other than to have you send it in for them to troubleshoot and charge you a pretty penny to repair.   if out of warranty   I say its not worth an expensie repair bill from HP,,,,it may as well be a brick ...go buy you a new dell or toshiba laptop ,,,they are more reliably designed and built.

Hello!
I have HP ProBook 450 G1, and today while I was using it, it suddenly stopped working.
From then on, I can't get it to Turn on again.
I tried Hard reset, But it is still not working. Pushing power button seems not to do anything.
But when laptop is connected to Ac or battery is in it, the power/battery Light on the side is blinking in about 1 second interval.
I suspect, that this is because of faulty systemboard, or maybe it's something with Ac adapter/battery?. Any other ideas, tips or help?
Thank you in advance!

I suspect you may be correct   Motherboard failure of some sort.    I googled your symptoms and found no good answer to resolve your problem.--probably you have found the same results!!

so to be sure  I understood your symptoms correctly   you say the little charge status LED next to where the ac adapter plugs in  blinks white   with or without the battery  --is that right???

last hail mary thing you might try and is to remove the battery, then taken a hair dryer and carefully blow hot hair thru the cooling vents for at least a minute or 1.5 minutes until the case get really hot (dont hold too close to the grill-heat can melt the plastic screen)  in hopes that this procedure maybe reflowing the solder on a bad solder joint on the motherboard.

then while the laptop is still hot, reinstall battery and try and see if it will boot up!!!!  just a last ditch thing to try and rescucitate it from the dead.

post back with results to share with the rest of the poor HP laptop owners with this same sad story.

@ Louge

Thanks for hte quick response, yes that is about it. There is only the white light adjacent to the ac port. It does not blink, change color, nothing. No other sounds of any type.

I am not sure if replacing the switch would help, but that would be just a guess that would cost 40 bucks or so.

Yep, pretty bad that HP won't even bother to check in on their own forum!!! Last HP I will buy!!

and if you want to eliminate the power switch as the likely cause before wasting your fortydollars on a switch that may not fix the problem    probably can open up the keyboard area to get to the power. switch and just simply jump across the r power switch with a a wire jumper or even a paper clip to see if that will power on the lappy   seems like that should be an effective test.   good luck with further troubleshooting   solid white or blue light would impl y the battery is fully charged but just my guess,  if you have a multimeter  you could probe the voltage on the battery and check battery level of charge and likewise test the voltage out of the ac adapter for proper 19 volts out DC.

Hi louge,

Its good to see you helping a lot of people here.
I own a HP laptop. The laptop when power button is pressed the white light on the power button and orange light on WiFi button glows but immediately the laptop turns off... I also tried the reset thing... Holding the power button with adapter and battery removed. But is still the same. Adapter is good. Battery is good. Hope you will have a solution for me.
Thanks

Hmm. Abit of a different symptom But promising. Have blown out the cooling vents with compressed. ?? For your laptop. Removing or disconnecting the cmos battery and shorting across the battery holder terminals may help if it is your bios is locked up for some reason. Do both. Cleaning and cmos battery removal then tiring to reset the bios. May work

My computer died a couple hours ago while I was playing Minecraft on it. I plugged it up immediately, and I tried to turn it back on. It did not turn on. I tried everything, but nothing worked. Need help.
Thanks,
