Hi,i have this laptop about one month ago.It run great on almost games, and i really love it,but i don't like the cpu temperature(i7 6700hq),it so hot,90 degrees on max :(...And i check my laptop fan by a software call is speedfan, while running a heavy game like the witcher 3,it show my laptop has two fan:the first run fast(above 4000 RPM) but the second fan run too slowly (about 200 RPM)...why?my cpu temp go up 90 degrees...

Hello, @love-gaming – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums! I would like to help you with the notebook issue 🙂
Going through your post, I understand that the notebook is heating up while playing games. Are you keeping the notebook on an uneven surface? If so, try placing the laptop on a table top and check the performance. This is important because the laptop cooling vents tend to get blocked while kept in your lap, bed or any other uneven surface. Hence please check this and let me know if that makes any difference.
Alternatively, let's try to do a BIOS default on your PC. Here are the steps:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5) Press F10 to save and exit.
If the issue still persists, update the BIOS on your notebook. Follow the steps mentioned here for the same: http://hp.care/2q9DQMW
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Good luck 🙂

It looks like you were interacting with @Dvortex, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Riddle_Decipher & I'm at your service.
I love gaming too, that said, I'm afraid your HP 15 is not designed for gaming, it's purpose if every day computing and hence I would request you not to overload the computer with HD games that this computer cannot handle.
Although, here are a few steps you can do to enhance the performance of your laptop:
Right-click your desktop background and select NVIDIA Control Panel. You can also find this tool by performing a Start menu (or Start screen) search for NVIDIA Control Panel or by right-clicking the NVIDIA icon in your system tray and selecting Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
To quickly set a system-wide preference, you could use the Adjust image settings with the preview option. For example, if you have old hardware that struggles to play the games you want to play, you may want to select “Use my preference emphasizing” and move the slider all the way to “Performance.” This trades graphics quality for an increased frame rate.
By default, the “Use the advanced 3D image settings” option is selected. You can select Manage 3D settings and change advanced settings for all programs on your computer or just for specific games. NVIDIA keeps a database of the optimal settings for various games, but you’re free to tweak individual settings here. Just mouse-over an option for an explanation of what it does.
If you have a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus technology — that is, both NVIDIA and Intel graphics — this is the same place you can choose which applications will use the NVIDIA hardware and which will use the Intel hardware.
For more assistance, please check a similar HP Forums post (Resolved): Click here
(Though the header is different the steps will help get you a fix).
And upgrading the BIOS isn't "dangerous" unless the computer is turned off while it's in progress, so be careful and connect it to a battery or a UPS when performing the update to be on a safer side.
Keep me posted for further assistance 😉

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts 😉
If you've gone through my first post in depth,
by now you should have switched to the performance from visual effects on the Nvidia control panel.
the fans on your computer are system managed and it doesn't matter if one of them is running slowly as long as it doesn't affect your system performance.
Keep me posted for further assistance 😉

Try a different motherboard-querying software, e.g., download the free version of SPECCY from www.Piriform.com
It might give more details about the location of the "slow" fan, or might show a different value.
