I'd like to upgrade the CPU of my NX6310 notebook to a dual core CPU.

Chipset is 943GML

Currently:

Celeron M430 1,73Ghz

According to wikipedia the chipset supports Celeron M, Core Solo and "Pentium Dual Core" with 533Mhz FSB.

It also says this chipset unofficially supports Core Duo, Core 2 Duo and an FSB ob 667Mhz.

Which CPUs will work?

I found someone on another forum who tried a Core Duo and it is only recognized as Core Solo. Could a T2080 or T2130 Pentium Dual Core work? They should be supported by the chipset...

Those processors should work with that chipset, remember to apply new thermal paste when changing the processor.

Hi

I know it should work with the chipset. But will it really work with my NX6310?

Core Duo should also work with this chipset (although unofficially), but still the NX6310 can only use one core if you put in a Core Duo.

Maybe the bios simply disables dual core completely when used with 943GML chipset.

I do not know on that unit personally but all info available to me suggests that should not a problem except the dual core being dropped to a single core.

It should not be a problem if the dual core is dropped to a single core?

What do you mean by that? Of course that's a problem, because it makes the whole thing about upgrading to a dual core cpu pretty pointless, right?

If nobody knows if it will work I guess I will just buy a T2130 and try it. If only one core works I have at least upgraded from 1,73 to 1.86 ghz and speedstep isnt bad either...

Correct it would be pointless and that clock speed increase in minimal.

Is it possible to insert  Core2Duo T5750/667MHz/2MB Cache and which Bios-Rev. is needed,

F.0d or F.0e, Board -Nr. is 413667-001/NEW.

Thanks in advance
