I’ve tried factory resetting my laptop for the last 3 days with no luck. I keep getting an error message saying that the factory reset was failed but with no reasoning. I’m assuming I’m storage is too full. I need to factory reset because I plan on selling this laptop. Hopefully someone can help me!

@Lorna21 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to perform the factory reset.

Please perform the system tests and check.

Please perform the below steps on the computer to run a System Test

- Shut down/Turn off the computer

- Once the computer is completely Shut down/Turned off

- Now press the power button once to turn on the computer and immediately start pressing/tapping the F2 key on the keyboard

- This should open the UEFI Diagnostic screen on the computer

- Please select System Test and then select Extensive Test

If all test passed please perform the system recovery

1. Shutdown the computer.

2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.

4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.

5. Click on Troubleshoot.

6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Recovery.

Note : Back-up all your data as System Recovery will delete everything that you had saved or installed on the computer.
