No,

sp56942.exe

I'm confused why you say to use the one I said I tried first.  Only because I think it was the one that worked last time I tried this?  Or some other reason?

On a fresh install, using sp59828

Great, so the wireless finally worked--and with the newer driver too.

You need these drivers for those two devices...

Ethernet:

This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp52421.exe

PCI Dev:

This package contains the driver that enables the Realtek Card Reader in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The card reader enables users to read from or write to supported removable storage cards, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players, and cellular phones.

File name: sp52186.exe

I already have the working card reader driver, why are you giving me that?  This is confusing enough already.  Do I just need to run sp52421.exe ?

HP Recommended

Yes, and you do need the card reader driver I posted.

There is only one device labeled PCI device and that is the card reader.

HP Recommended

And I said I already had it, therefore I do NOT need it.

Installed sp52421.exe and there are no errors and I still have no internet.  Not connected, no connections are available.  Orange light on the key.

And I have said that you do!

Google the hardware ID for the PCI device, and you will see that it is the Realtek Card reader!

Try manually installing the ethernet driver like you tried for the wireless driver.

And try manually installing the above card reader driver as well.

I've been doing this for 6 years, and by golly, I know what drivers you need!

HP Recommended

What you didn't say is that I need the cardreader driver installed in order for the internet to work.  You still haven't actually said that, but now I'll assume that's what you mean.  And I tried the driver manually first and it didn't work.  It did work running it, like I said.

HP Recommended

Installed the card reader driver and now I have no error messages in Device Manager.  I also have no internet.  No connections are available.
