My laptop is showing Wi-fi 2 rather than Wi-fi
It started after I tried to update my Broadcom Bluetooth driver.
I have tried these methods:
- I uninstalled all network and bluetooth drivers, restarted, reinstalled the same drivers===still showing Wi-fi 2
-I deleted all of the network profiles from these registery locations

- I tried to rename the wireless adapter but it says the device name Wi-fi already exists (I don't know where)

Please tell me how to correct the name to Wi-fi

Hey Appstauq,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and issues with the WiFi listings. You could check if there are two listed and remove both by Right-clicking the network icon, and select Network and Sharing Center , and then select Change adapter settings in the left pane. You will see WiFi 1 and 2 listed remove both restart the computer and connect again. You could try opening Device Manager, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. In Device Manager, locate the network adapter and removing any listed. You could check this document on where to start troubleshooting.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

thank you for your reply..
I have tried uninstalling and deleting network drivers(all of them) but it was not resolved. I even chose to 'view hidden devices' in device manager but there was only one Wifi adapter which I uninstalled and reinstalled many times.
In network and sharing center, adapter setting I can't see any adapter named 'Wi-Fi' or 'Wi-Fi 1'. There is only one WiFi adapter named as 'Wi-Fi 2' which I can't rename to 'Wi-Fi' as it says a connection with same name already exist. I have tried deleting network profiles from registery too but the problem still persists...

Hey Appstauq,
Are you the only user on this Notebook. If there is another profile this could have the Wifi listed in it. You could try a system restore.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
