Hi ..

I hav a Hp pavillion laptop dv5-2231. I hav connected a external bluetooth dongle which has got installed correctly. windows says drivers for the dongle hav been installed correctly. Bluetooth still looks to be working fine, but when I bring the "add a device" wizard it just loops in there and nothing happens.  Windows7 64-bit computer does not show any devices. don't know what else to do.  Kindly Help me out !!

Hi Vignesh,

Can you help me to identify whether my HP integrated bluetooth should use Broadcomm or Atheros driver?

Product : VZ508PA#UUF
Model   : Presario CQ35-331TX

The bluetooth module could not be recognized (not showing as bluetooth radio in Device Manager) since I upgraded my OS from Win7 Home Premium to Win7 Ultimate 64bits.

I have tried your approach installing Bluetoothwin7suite, but it didn't work for me.  Hope you can further assist.

Thanks!

Please try the following driver if you have not tried:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46001-46500/sp46063.exe

If not, please provide the hardware id of the bluetooth device from device manager.

I am an HP employee.

Vidya

Hi Vidya,

Sp46063.exe was the first driver I tried, which gave me the following error during installation.

I am not able to provide the hardware ID as the bluetooth radio is not even listed in Device Manager.

I suspect either the Bios, Chipset or OS can not recognize the bluetooth module.

The HP Wireless Assistant used to list Bluetooth as Installed Wireless Devices (in Win7 Home Premium), but now not anymore.

Kindly advice on what I can do to get the bluetooth module recognized by the system.  Thank you!

For the bluetooth hardware id, you can find it in the BIOS.

But..... i dont think anyone can suggest you the right solution. They keep telling all the drivers in the world as trial and error method.

I suggest you to walk in to the HP shop where you bought the laptop. Look for the same model, login to it, and see the Hardware manager for the Bluetooth radio. From its properties, find out the correct driver... Broadcomm, Atheros or whatever, then google and download it to make it work.

You have to do this work, if you want ur bluetooth to work.

Regards,
